Long overdue.

Amazing how just one post ago I was in a jacket and boots
and now I'm spending my days in skirts and dresses.
Loved this outfit. Especially the cropped-top lace. So easy breezy.
I am a creature of habit and this will definitely be on rotation in my closet.
And also with this post comes the realization of just how much I've "womaned out" these last couple of years. Long gone are the days of size 0/1 and I now welcome a world full of curves.
And I must admit, I kind of like it this way.
...
Now, on to more important things.
Throughout the time that I've had this blog, I have received some really great blogger awards. And I am so honored and thankful to receive each of them. I know I'm suuuper late in replying to them and I apologize. I'm actually the worst person to give these awards to because I don't ever follow through with all the rules that come with receiving them. But, it doesn't mean I don't appreciate them!
I'm just that lazy.
So, I'd like to properly say THANK YOU for noticing my lil' ol' blog. If I could, I'd give you all a BIG hug! But, unfortunately that isn't possible, so this will have to do. ;)
 XxOo.

Weekend love.

Whew. This week flew right by me! Again.
Busy bee. That's me.
But, it's Friday.
And it's my weekend off.
And I've got a shopping day planned for Saturday.
Aaaaand I will also be getting a much needed massage.
But, the absolute BEST part about this weekend is Resurrection Sunday.
And my Lord lives!

By the way, if anybody has any great ideas on where I should spend my money buying pretty items for my closet anywhere in the LA area, lemme know!

And it was super funny that the hubbs wanted to shoot in a sort-of alley near dumpsters just because I wore this jacket. Lol.
Not my first choice, but I'm just happy he's more than willing to be creative with my blog and take my pictures.
Thanks, babe!
By the way, check out his blog: KounterKultured and spread the word. Especially to the man in your life! It's a very male oriented blog complete with cars and other such things. They'll love it.

Can't stay away.

Red. Lots of it. In my wardrobe. Sheeeesh.
I've got such an affinity toward this color and all it's different hues. It has definitely showed it's dominance over all other colors in my closet throughout the years. Except for my beloved black, of course. So, please bear with me when I go through my red spurts.
And enjoy the squinting. It's the new blogger thing to do. Didn't you get the memo??  ;)

Thrifted belt & shorts. H&M shirt. Steve Madden sandals.

Crochet of the day.

Post brunch with a tummy full of french toast and powdered sugar. And lots of coffee.
Good food = Happy me.
Thus, the twirling session.

The only items never before seen are the skirt (F21) and crochet vest (local boutique). Nothing fancy. But always, always what makes me feel good. Regardless of any label. :)

The next generation.

Received these pics in my email just a few days ago.
Taken by my sis-in-law across the world of a couple of my favorite little girls!
They love their Auntie Ash so much that they wanted to be part of my blogger world.
And I love them twice as much.
I can't wait to have them back here in California.
And without further ado,
here is the future of fashion and blogging.

Sheer delight.

Another flowy, see-through, neutral-colored fave.
With a bonus asymmetrical hem and vented back.
Totally into it.

And yes, bike riding with heels. It's the new thing. Gives the calves just that bit more of a challenge. Haha. ;)

Basically basic.

Just a favorite tee and some jeans. Sometimes a girl's gotta take it back to the basics.
Basic but chic. Never sloppy.

Oh, and also formally introducing the new 'do. I had it redone after this post by Lien at Union Salon in Pasadena. She's amazing! She has the equivalent of a Master's degree in hair styling with all the experience and education she's had. She just recently worked on a photo shoot for Nylon magazine. If you're near Pasadena and are looking to change things up for spring and summer. She is your girl. Seriously.

Tee: F21 (Twelve by Twelve), jeans: Levi's, belt: F21, wedges: Qupid Ophelia 10--a wonderfully budget conscious alternative to the Tory Burch Victor perforated wedge.

Lakeside.

Yesterday was my nephew's 2nd birthday. Happy birthday, Jones!
We spent the entire afternoon at Puddingstone Lake (just 15 minutes away from our place!) bbq-ing, enjoying the sunshine and feeding the ducks with hot dog buns, tortillas and cheerios. It was such a beautiful day that I didn't even realize it was Monday. I love days like these when it feels like I'm a million miles away from reality. I can just catch my breath and recharge.

Most of the items I'm wearing in this post are oldies but goodies just thrown together for a comfy and casual day with the loved ones.
I've worn the jumper before in this post. On this day, I threw on a racerback tank over it and a sheer shirt because like lace, I'm obsessed with anything see-through for this season.
Spring is definitely here in sunny California!
